The Singing Coach

You don’t tell a piano teacher that you don’t have good fingers.

Yet Julia Amisano hears this all the time when people come to her for singing lessons, offering a major ‘but” before they begin: “I don’t have a good voice.”

Julia Amisano thinks this idea that we can’t sing is so embedded in our culture that we have come to believe only people with voices “touched by angels” are allowed to sing.

Julia Amisano thinks that this self-defeating notion is all wrong.

As a voice teacher, and an accomplished singer, Julia Amisano believes that we all can learn to sing.

And in The Singing Coach she’s going to prove that she’s right.

The Singing Coach is an original series for television that takes Julia Amisano's conviction that we can all sing out into the world and makes it happen.

This mindset shift leads to an identity shift where the student realizes they get to be part of music-- and so does everyone else. This shift is in allowing themselves to accept the truth that singing is their birthright and learning to sing well is possible.

This is the real drama of our show and these are the real stakes: we can show the world definitively that everyone gets to be part of music and can learn to develop their voice and sound good!

The Singing Coach is a reality TV series with a heart as big as its voice-- and with the vivacious and captivating charms and talents of our host Julia Amisano.

--viewers will want to join in the journey of our compelling characters wherever it might lead, to see what it sounds like in the end. And to sing along...

It is a revolutionary idea... but that is exactly what we are about. We want to start a singing revolution and show that everyone can learn to sing well!

JULIA AMISANO'S VISION

"The mission of The Singing Coach is ultimately to show that all people can be part of music. I want people to watch the show and say to themselves, "Well, if the mailman can do it then maybe I can, too."

The idea that only certain people can be part of music is a distortion in our culture that has made so many people feel shamed, and like they are not allowed to sing.

They think they have a bad voice or the wrong voice or just a voice that won't be accepted by other people. Singers Anonymous! is going to change that reality.

This show is for everyone-- including the hearing impaired and people with disabilities and people in prison, and everyone in between.

Everyone will see that they can be a part of music, and that nobody is left out."
